THE GIRL WHO LIVED – A Melbourne woman's incredible journey of wreckage and renewal

In a cold, dark and desolate harbor channel, Susan Berg fought for her teenage life after a tragic boating accident claimed the lives of her parents and brother. That fateful night left Susan traumatised - mentally and emotionally scarred for years to come. It was the beginning of a roller coaster world that would shape her character and open her mind.

Susan learned to cope whilst enduring tumultuous experiences that others would never want to face and became a beacon for others wanting to escape adversary, conflict and despair.

Now, as the 30th anniversary of the loss of her family approaches, Susan recounts that fateful night at sea and the agony of the aftermath she endured and then ultimately embraced to reconstruct her life.

This deeply emotional and personal tale of survival, tenacity and heroism, has been expertly recounted in the author’s revealing and candid style.

Susan’s first book, The Girl Who Lived, is published by OpenBook Creative, and will be launched on Thursday 6th November.
